What is Intimacy Coordinating for Film and Television?
Intimacy coordination is the professional practice of supporting productions by creating safe, respectful, and consent-based environments for scenes involving intimacy, nudity, simulated sex, or other vulnerable content in film and television.
An intimacy coordinator works collaboratively with actors, directors, producers, and crew to help ensure performer safety, clear communication, and maintain professional standards throughout the production process. The role also helps productions by operating within legal and ethical practices while maintaining respect for performer boundaries, consent, and workplace safety.
Depending on the needs of the production, intimacy coordination may also include the choreography and coordination of intimate and emotionally charged scenes to support both storytelling and performer comfort.
About Me
Hello! I’m Céleste, a trained actor, writer, and intimacy coordinator. As an actor, I understand firsthand the trust and vulnerability that intimate and emotionally charged work may require. I believe that when performers feel safe, supported, and clear in their boundaries, it creates more freedom for authentic and compelling performances.
I am certified and trained through the Intimacy Professionals Association, a SAG-AFTRA-accredited program. I also hold a BA in Film Production from Seattle Film Institute, am certified in integrative somatics, and am currently pursuing a graduate degree focused on somatic trauma therapy. My experience in professional film and television production has given me an understanding of the practical realities of a working set and the needs of both performers and production. My goal is to support performers while working collaboratively with directors and creative teams to bring their vision to the screen.
I am based in the Pacific Northwest, hold both U.S. and Canadian citizenship, and am available and excited for international work.
